Once we pick him up and put him on our laps, he is quiet. He is without a doubt, Pipje's favourite. If you know Pipje, you'll know that she's always been partial to her cream boys. This nest is no different. He is the apple of Pipje's eye-he's the one she'll carry first to the safest spot, the one who gets fed first, the one she comes running to the moment he makes the tiniest sound;) Update WK3: Bo is such a character. Last week, he was outgoing, naughty etc. This week, he screams murder when we pick him up (many kittens go through this stage...) but then decides that he quite enjoys it anyway. As mentioned before, he is a mummy's boy. Pipje makes sure to remind me of it everytime she thinks I'm trying to do something funny with her precious son;) Update WK4: Bo was the first with eating meat and also the first with using the kitten litter box. It was so easy- all I had to do was put a plate of meat and he immediately understood it. The other kittens took a few days longer. At the moment, he's the only one who's using the kitten litter box- I saw him being all serious in it the other day and found a 'present' later and he's been pretty consistent with it since. Update June 19th : Bo is still mummy's little boy and a screamer. He's already discovered the stairs but luckily, because no one else has, he isn't terribly interested in them yet. I'm hoping it stays that way as it's nerve wrecking when they climb up and downstairs and when they decide to go between the bars to cross through another bar while half their bodies are hanging out into the 'ravine'. As he will most likely be joining a family with a toddler, we're trying to get him used to unexpected pats, carries etc. Eleanor's been helping a lot with that as she seems to think that the kittens are her play mates and doesn't realise that she's 6 times their size. She pounces on poor Bo, cleans him roughly and uses him as a kind of of fluffy toy (kicking with her back legs). He squeals but isn't hurt and we do give him a little more one-on-one attention so hopefully, when he joins his new family, he wouldn't be too surprised by toddlers! |
Gus with Purrfect Paws

He is a typical 'Gus'. He is friendly, lazy- my little nickname for him is "Sloompie". He isn't so 'sloom' anymore but he is still pretty calm. He is good friends with Bo at the moment. They are both starting to wrestle with each other which is funny to watch as they're both still clumsy babies! Update WK3: Gus is probably the most developed one amongst all the kittens. He was the first to try to jump out of the nest and as their box was quite small, I moved them to a kitten pen. He's decided to explore out of that into the big, scary world. His mum wasn't impressed by his bravery- she dragged him back into the pen and gave him a scolding. Not that he cares because he gets out every chance he gets. What I like about Gus is how he looks at us. When we come home, he's aware of it and when we peek over their pens, Gus will be sitting neatly, looking up at us with bright eyes waiting to be let out of the kitten pen:) Update WK4: Gus is still Gus. He's independent and loves having fun. He's still the biggest kitten in the nest. He's always so relaxed when we carry him. He's not eating meat yet probably because he doesn't see the need of it yet (he has the best nipple to himself...) Update June 19th: Gus is really starting to get interested in humans. It was funny to see how he kept going over to his new owners when they came by. He's also more open to us too- sometimes he just walks over to us and mews because he wants to play or wants some cuddles. His eyes are probably the most developed, they are definitely not blue anymore but are an amber-shade at the moment. He is still the biggest kitten and if he continues like that, he will most likely leave the nest weighing above 2 kilos! |

She was the first one to open her eyes. I am still getting to know her but so far, she seems to be sweet, likes being with Tobi and has no problems fighting with the boys for a nipple (she often wins- even when she's up against Gus or Bo)! Update WK3: Coco is growing, she is now the second heaviest. She is curious, enjoys exploring and loves playing with her brothers. I had initially expected Coco to be the smallest in the nest as she is the only girl and was born with the lowest weight but she's really making sure that I don't underestimate her. I'm really pleased that she is under option to move with Tobi as they enjoy playing together (for now...) Update June 19th: Coco is such a fun girl to know. I would never have guessed that she would be the crazy, naughty one! She is not shy at all and when we have visitors, she tries to sell herself by doing all kinds of cute kitten things;) I love playing with her because she's very responsive and is absolutely tireless! Her favourite toy now is the 'kattenhengel'- she can run after it for 20 minutes straight at top speed and she could probably continue but then I get tired:P She sounds like a horse galloping and she has the cutest expression on her face. I mean, what is it with cats that when they are hunting, they look even cuter (puss in boots eyes) than when they are sleeping? That's just messed up, don't you think?;) |

Tobi mostly sleeps with Coco Puff. It's funny how even at such a young age, they seem to have already 'paired up'. Both he and Gus are lilacs but Tobi's shade is much lighter than Gus'. I'm looking forward to getting to know this little guy within the next few weeks! Update WK3: Tiny Tobi is blossoming. He's been so naughty and active in the last week, play-fighting with Coco Puff, Bo and Gus. Tobi has a way of looking at you with the saddest of faces and his mouth is always a little open (no teeth yet...); I just can't help but go owwww while laughing at how pathetic he looks:D Tobi might be tiny but his voice certainly isn't. He can scream very loudly for his mummy and he does know what he wants/does not want. His new favourite toy is the kitten scratch post in the 'kittenren'. Update June 19th: When Tobi was born, he was this pathetic tiny little thing and I wasn't sure what to think. He really didn't like being carried- even when he was a few weeks old (his back legs would kind off cramp up) so I thought that he'd be fine with some socialisation when he was older. What I didn't expect was that he would be the easygoing, affectionate dude of the nest! He loves to purr- probably the biggest purrer in the nest and is so relaxed. Everytime I touch him, he purrs immediately and he likes it when I tickle his tummy too. He strectches out and moves his head in a way that I have easy access to tickling his chin too;) He likes to sleep on his back with his tummy up which I absolutely love. He'll be moving with Coco Puff so his new family will have the most naughty and the most relaxed kittens from 2015;) |
