Adopting Our Kittens
All our kittens are very precious to us. It is essential that they go to a forever home where they are dearly loved by their new families. Basically, our request to you is that you keep the cats happy, healthy and safe. Please take note that breeding for us is a hobby and we are not a business. For more information about caring for your kitten, please go here
How This (adopting a kitten) Works:
1. Contact us via e-mail and let us know a little bit about yourself. During this time, you can also let us know if you like a specific kitten (this would be best as we do not want you to be disappointed if someone else has chosen that one) and we will also send you the kitten contract during our email exchange so that you are aware of our expectations. If you have certain traits you like (for eg. you want a playful or calm kitten), we can help you (although of course there is no guarantee if their current behavior will remain when they are older!). Please feel free to ask us as many questions as you like- we don't mind:)
2. We can make an appointment to meet (this will happen only when the kittens are at least 5 weeks old) so that you see the kittens in real life. Then we will both have 24 hours (or more, depending on what we have agreed) if you like the kitten and if we think the kitten and you are a good match. If we reach an agreement, you may send a non-refundable reservation fee* of 150 euro by bank transfer/cash (whichever is easier) as well as send 2 signed copies of the contract by email or post-one will be sent back to you. Once we have both (reservation fee+signed contract), the kitten is officially reserved for you:)
3. I will send you picture updates on your kitten and of course, you're also welcome to visit him/her until he/she can leave the nest.
4. When possible, we will send the kitten to your home when he/she is ready to leave the nest at the age of 13-16 weeks old. However, as can be expected, new owners often cannot wait for their new pets so we shall have to see how this works logistically! The final kitten contract will be signed during this time (basically the same, only with the pedigree number and chip number) and final payment (minus the reservation fee) will be made. If we are unable to send the kitten, you are welcome to pick up the kitten from our place. Please do not forget to bring your cat transporter (not a cardboard box, please but a proper cat transporter).

* The blood group of the kittens is B (this is based on the fact that both parents are B which is recessive)
* Both parents were tested for HCM, PKD, FIV and FeLV.
* All kittens will leave the nest vaccinated against feline calicivirus (niesziekte) and feline panleukopenia (kattenziekte) at 12 weeks old. The reason why (vaccination at 12 weeks old) can be found here: http://www.neocatbritten.nl/artikelen/inentingen.pdf New owners will vaccinate for the 2nd time at around 16 weeks old. We have decreased the price due to this.
Furthermore, our kittens will be micro-chipped (registration is included), possess a European passport which includes a health check from the vet (this is in the passport),de-wormed and will of course, have a pedigree (stamboom) from Mundikat (FiFe).
In addition, we will also provide a nice kitten pack with their usual kibble (Orijen), some top quality wet food and depending where you live (due to it being frozen), some raw food, litter and other nice things so that the kitten(s) will have a smooth transition to its new home. Copies of the health tests of both mum and dad will also be included.
We will also get the kittens used to household noises and general human contact. We make it a point to give one-on-one attention to every individual kitten.
We strongly prefer homes where the kitten has another cat companion (either a litter mate or another cat. The 2nd cat doesn't necessarily have to be a British Shorthair- a moggie (huiskat) is fine too). This will make life easier for you too. Please make sure that the other cat is not carrying a virus, parasite etc.
All kittens are not for breeding. We are considering early neutering our 2016 nests. Should we choose to do so, kittens may only leave the nest at 14-16 weeks old.
Please take note that we are not breeding for money. We are a hobby cattery and we are currently breeding at a significant loss.
Please also take note that our kittens are to be indoor cats only! They may not roam freely (a secure garden with a cat run is OK)
